North Carolina: Courage Shapes History

A Legacy of Courage and Vision:

North Carolina is a place where courage and vision have shaped history.

In 1776, at Halifax, the people of North Carolina took a bold stand for freedom and human dignity, becoming the first colony to call for independence from British rule.

More than a century later, on the shores of Kitty Hawk, the Wright Brothers turned a universal human dream into reality. In that moment, we discovered that the "impossible" was now within reach.

In 1960, at a lunch counter in Greensboro, four courageous students proved that peace is not passive, but a powerful force for justice. Their nonviolent stand ignited a nationwide movement, showing the world that young voices can change the course of history.

From Freedom in Halifax and Flight at Kitty Hawk to Justice in Greensboro, North Carolina has always been a place where courage turns dreams into human achievement.

The Next Chapter: TMSA Peace Forum

North Carolina is the place TMSA calls home. Courage and vision are our inheritance. And, we are ready to take the next bold step in that journey. We are committed to shaping a new generation of peace builders through TMSA Peace Forum: The Global Student Dialogue.

Each fall, high school students gather at our beautiful campus in Apex, North Carolina, to engage in a mission of global importance: to learn from one another, to listen with empathy, and to lead with the courage required to build a more peaceful future.

Join us in North Carolina for TMSA Peace Forum, where the next generation of peace builders takes flight.
